This is my reference sheet that I use when playing Warly. There are recipes that work for me on a regular basis, as well as some that others have recommended that have been amazing. I try to update it whenever I realize or learn about the brilliance of certain recipes on the list or the awesomeness of those not on the list.

Common sense values are left out because I feel it’s not a food thing. Most pot recipes have a base value of 5 anyway.

Don’t Starve Together: The Best Food Sources

At most one meat in each recipe can be replaced with monster meat, more than that will result in BAD FOOD!

Up to one more meat in each recipe can be replaced with lean meat, more than that will result in BAD FOOD!

Combined this means that 2 meats from any recipe can be replaced with two easy to put together.

Don T Starve Cooking Pot

Here are all the recipes that were left out and why. I’m listing them here to make my thinking more transparent, as well as to explain why your favorite recipe might not be included. If you disagree with the reasoning behind one of these recipes, please let me know. (Some recipes may fall into more than one category.)

Warly Don’t Starve Guide: The Shipwrecked Chef Cooking Up A Storm

*Butter ~ Too uncommon to warrant multiple recipes. *Eels ~ Why go underground and catch these fish when you can just fish on the surface? *Figs ~ Going to the ocean biome can be boring and the transplant method is overkill. So having more than one recipe listed would be overkill. *Bananas ~ Only underground and in debatably the most dangerous biome because of the monkeys. *Royal Milk ~ You have to kill a rather annoying raid boss to get this. And if you kill her, I don’t have to tell you to use her only for his function.

*Sense Focused ~ It’s okay for food to make sense as a supplement, but not as the main purpose of the meal, especially when it comes to the cost of medicinal alternatives to those ingredients. *Temperature Control ~ The main goal is to control your temperature… Get a thermal stone.

I’ve only calculated this for a few dishes, so there may be more suitable for this that I haven’t considered.

Older versions with a more outdated format in my opinion, as well as less practical recipes and missing practical recipes.

Steam Community :: Guide :: Don’t Starve Food Cheat Sheet

Newer older version with similar formatting. With mixed costs for lower value ingredients and recipes. Except you’re missing some new goodies. For each meat plus three edible fillers you get 62.5 hunger, which is generally a large increase in the value of its ingredients. It’s an incredibly versatile dish that accommodates most fillings, including ice, vegetables and eggs. You can even throw a lot away to forget if you happen to have weeds growing. Avoid using honey as a filler unless you want honey clumps. Remember not to combine meat with twigs, as this will result in kebabs, which give about half the value of meatballs.

Now, if you have a large meat, the absolute best pot for it is for a meat stew, which can be cooked with ingredients of 3 meats in total. Bites and drumsticks are worth half the meat; Monster Meat, Leaf Meat, and Large Meat are all worth one. So probably the easiest recipe would include 1 Monster Meat, 1 Large Meat, and 2 Bites. You can also make it from 1 monster meat, 2 large meats and an edible filler. Just don’t use honey, or you have honey ham, and don’t use more than one monster meat, or you have lasagna.

This dish restores 12 health and 150 hunger which will fully restore most characters’ hunger. It’s incredibly potent and gives you more than double the value of its ingredients for most combos. Definitely learn this recipe.

Once you have a birdcage and access to eggs, there are two very important recipes you’ll want to learn. The first is bacon and eggs. This dish requires two eggs plus any meat value greater than Now, this is not the most efficient dish for hunger, as it requires four separate pieces of meat, two to be added directly and two to be turned into eggs. On the other hand, it allows you to turn monster meat into a hunger dish that actually gives decent healing – 20 health points. Another big advantage is that it has a 20-day spoilage time which is much longer than most other foods and twice as long as cooked meat. So if your freezer is full of meat and you don’t have drying racks or wraps, consider cooking bacon and eggs just for canning.

Don’t Starve: How To Heal & Get More Health

For the dedicated medicine eater, this is probably the only recipe you’ll ever need to learn. Pierogi. 1 egg, 1 vegetable, any meat. The filler can be anything that can be eaten. 40 health. It’s certainly not an underrated dish, but rightfully so. It’s cheap, fairly available, and incredibly effective. The filling is flexible, but the simplest recipes require only a source of meat and vegetables. This has been the healing food of choice for boss fights in DST for so many years; just build a stack, and you’re good for tanks. However, what is largely underappreciated about this dish is the fact that like bacon and eggs, it has a 20 day spoilage. Keeping a few pierogies in your freezer is never a bad idea.

When you start getting honey from your bee boxes, honey ham is one of the recommended honey foods. Requires 1 honey plus any meat value greater than 1.5. The simplest recipe is monster meat, raw meat, honey and any filling dish. This is truly an amazing dish for both hunger and health, and requires only access to meat and honey.

Another excellent medicinal food is fish. For one fish, one twig, and each filling container, you get 40 healing. Just like pierogi although it requires a bit of fishing, plus it spoils twice as fast. But as a prescription it is cheaper and restores a lot of health. You can use two monster meats for the filling. Do you know why? Because twigs are not accepted in monster lasagna.

In general, if you have a lot of fish, you might want to look into grass surfing for health and sanity, but as far as pure healing goes, fish sticks are the way to go.

Don’t Starve Together: The Best Ways To Heal

If you prefer fishing, Surf and Turf is the only dish that takes care of all your survival needs – it restores 37 Hunger, 33 Sanity and 60 Health! You need 1.5 fish and 2.5 meat, the recipe is flexible with a large fish, otherwise you need 3 small fish and 1 larger meat for a crockpot dish.

If you decide to rest and fish near the Ruin Pond in the caves, eels are the easiest ingredients – 2 eels and 2 monster meats are enough for a quick reasonable recovery of health in the most dangerous place.

Taffy is a good recovery food available in the early game. Obviously, the cheapest way to regain your sanity would be to eat green mushrooms or cooked cactus, but mushrooms only regenerate after rain and both deserts may be far from your base. Taffy requires three honeys and one filler. Once you build a few bee boxes and start producing honey on a daily basis, Taffy is a good way to use honey because in addition to 15 sanity, it also gives 25 hunger and decays for 15 days.

However, later in the game, there are much better sanity alternatives: banana shake, jello salad, ice cream, vegetable skewer, calming tea, and more.

Cook Book Last 2 Recipes.

Trail Mix provides 30 health from some of the most basic ingredients: one cooked birch, two berries, and one twig. Birch trees can be grabbed by cutting down birches that can be found everywhere
