Easy Grilled Chicken Leg Quarters

Grilled chicken drumsticks or grilled chicken quarters are great grilling options, especially if you’re feeding a crowd! They are relatively cheap, suitable for children and very easy to bake in batches or all at once. The grilled chicken drumsticks are even better because I use my own honey bbq sauce!

Chicken – For this chicken drumstick barbecue recipe, you can use chicken drumsticks or chicken quarters, depending on availability.

Rub – The perfect grilling agent to add to what you already have in your cupboard! Just use some brown sugar, chili powder, cumin, salt, pepper and olive oil.

BBQ Sauce – For this homemade honey barbecue sauce, all you need is ketchup, white vinegar, molasses, honey, salt, pepper, dry mustard, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. This recipe makes enough to coat the chicken drumsticks and leaves some extra for dipping or saving for later.

The cooking time may vary depending on the size of the chicken drumsticks and the temperature of the grill. Factors such as whether you use a charcoal or gas grill can affect how long it takes to cook your meat.

It will generally take about 40-60 minutes. The key is to cook the chicken drumstick quarters at the highest temperature directly on the grill.

Any chicken you cook must reach 165 degrees Fahrenheit before removing it from the grill. It is also important to let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before digging. So when I got my delivery from Porter Road today, of course I just had to make these Grilled Chicken Drumsticks afterwards. They’re kind of a summer classic, because you can have them in your hands (perfect for casual get-togethers!) and everyone loves them.

I like to make them with homemade BBQ sauce (and they’re Whole30 compliant!), but you can use store-bought or keto-friendly BBQ sauce, depending on your dietary restrictions.

In this recipe, chicken drumsticks (also known as chicken legs) are generously seasoned with an amazing blend of sugar-free barbecue seasoning, then grilled until crispy and juicy.

Finally, they are grilled until they have that gooey, gooey goodness. It really doesn’t get any better than this!

How To Grill Chicken Drumsticks

Keep in mind that there are some important tips and tricks when learning how to grill chicken drumsticks. I will try them all, but if you prefer to cook your chicken in the oven or deep fryer, no problem! Just check out the changes below.

Add smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, chili powder, salt and pepper to a small bowl and mix with a spoon. Depending on how spicy your food is, you can also add some cayenne pepper to the mixture.

When you open a can of chicken, it will probably be a little (or a lot) mushy. Take some paper towels or paper towels and dry each piece of chicken on all sides.
