Remove the pan from the heat and allow the dog food to cool before eating or storing. The food can be divided into portions as needed – I usually divide it in half and freeze a batch. I use a measuring cup when eating, so I don’t waste time dividing it into portions.
I like the mixed vegetables from Walmart or Aldi which are peas or green beans, carrots and corn. (Don’t use anything with onions in it!) The last mix I will also have lima beans in it. You can use only a bag of carrots mixed with a bag of green beans. (You know your dog, so feed him what he likes – this is a simple recipe that you can get at the store/whatever is on hand!)
Indeed! Fruits are rich in nutrients that are good for dogs. Just don’t overdo it. We usually use what is in season or what we have in the freezer. We like to use berries – strawberries or blueberries work best. Do not use fruits because they are harmful to dogs.
