Job Simulator Vr Oculus Quest 2 – Price: £14.99 – Rapid Reviews Jonathan, a staff member from the UK, bought this game with his own money to review for our community.

VR simulation games, and simulation games in general, have covered a range of real jobs and situations and in recent years have tackled some strange areas of forklift operators and cemetery management. Job Simulator aims to combine the concept of job simulation game types with quirky shenanigans and create unique fun along the way.

In Job Simulator, you accept a job in one of four jobs: gourmet chef, office worker, convenience store clerk, and car mechanic. Each job has a variety of mission-based tasks, and when you complete the main missions, you unlock an infinite mode where you can play and do whatever you want within the job space.

Office Worker takes on the boring job of being a worker in an office cubicle tasked with performing various tasks in unique interactive ways. Your office space has a computer, printer/copier, filing cabinet, coffee maker, trash can, donuts and more. On your first day at the office, you go through jobs that include hiring and baking employees, giving presentations, making copies, and other office tasks.

During your office work, other employees will come to you to give you your work, to see how your day is going, and to fire the memorable employee who was mad at you. The office cubicle has lots of interactive things to play with, such as throwing paper airplanes at people, waving a magic 8 ball, and making copies of everything possible on your printer.

As a gourmet chef, you will take food orders from customers and prepare foods such as sandwiches, smoothies, cakes and put out fires. At one point, a special guest comes in who wants to play a song on the boom box while you prepare an engagement meal where you will hide a ring. There are many interactive elements in your kitchen, such as a rotating fridge/pantry where you can find cold drinks and dry goods, respectively. The sink, microwave and blender area is also unique in that you can switch between different kitchen appliances to make the different meals you need.

The robot customers will be walking around the restaurant laughing and joking about your service, complete meals, and punctuality when it comes to your service. Just like in Office Worker, you can cause trouble in your kitchen by creating elaborate meals with odd food collaborators like cookies, broccoli, and a slice of bread.

The car mechanic drops you off at a shop where you are tasked with repairing vehicles for the townspeople. You interact with the garage door chain to open the shop and wait for a resident to bring you their car or truck so you can assess the needs and get to work. There is a lever at the wall of your shop that allows you to switch between different things such as coins, fluids, decorations and gifts. You can also paint the vehicles that come into your shop to repair for their owners.

You can open the vehicles hood, drain the fluids from the rack, replace the batteries and turn off the air filters. Simple interactions are like shaking an air filter to clean it or putting pine fresheners on the rearview mirror to improve the “smell” of the car and clean it for the driver. The characters you meet are colorful and have a variety of personalities and desires when it comes to repairing their cars.

I found that the simulation of the fourth job, the convenience store clerk, was a bit shallow and also short on the actual gameplay that required me to interact with the store’s customers. There are two areas that can be changed by dial, such as the fridge, freezer, safe and snacks and a second dial that operates the hot dogs, display case, jump size items and the slushie machine. These made a lot of difference to the tasks I had to do, but in the end they were underutilized, in my opinion, compared to the other jobs.

There’s a lot of humor, though, from a colleague having to use a newspaper or magazine because the bathroom is out of toilet paper to Bandit Bot stopping at a “banana spot” that wants all the cheddar in the safe… These interactions are funny even if they fall a little flat. It would be great to see the bot characters more fully used in other jobs and neat callbacks to how the site does its work, but perhaps the nature of Job Simulator doesn’t allow for deep traversal.

Job Simulator: The 2050 Archives

The real fun of Job Simulator is completing tasks in the craziest and most creative way possible. When I watched my daughters play the game, they had fun throwing food and items to restaurant patrons and office workers and making oversized items before giving them to customers in the store. There were some unusual interactions, like items on the floor magically moving to your hand if you touched them, which was nice since you don’t want to hit the floor with your touch controllers.

Job Simulator is definitely a game to play in groups of friends who watch each other interact, broadcast on TV, tablet or phone and have fun watching different people solving different tasks. Some of the jobs that need to be done are linear in fashion, and the initial “mission” structure requires that it be done at least once.

After completing the missions, you have the option to play in Overtime mode, where your tasks are unlimited and you can work a 24-hour shift if you want. Overall, Job Simulator looks like an overpriced tech demo that showcases VR interactions and “silly fun.” Your mileage will change with the game and you will enjoy it. Owlchemy Labs Job Simulator is now $10 less than it was when it launched two weeks ago. In a post on the Steam page of the HTC Vive launch title, the developer explained its decision to permanently lower the price of the game to $29.99.

“When a completely new platform launched, no one knew what to expect, so we had to use the metrics we had available,” Owlchemy Labs wrote about the original launch price. The studio set a price of $39.99 based on Job Simulator’s development cost and what they felt was a reasonable price for the quirky VR title, where players try out a series of odd jobs.

But virtual reality is an untested new market, the developer said. He admitted ahead of Job Simulator’s launch that it could lead to a “slow start” to sales, before stating that the price change came in response to customer feedback.

Since Owlchemy Labs released the game alongside the Vive and 30 other titles on April 5, customers have been pushing the original price up in reviews. Although Job Simulator has a “very positive” review average on Steam, some of the more helpful reviews warn customers about the price.

“If it was $5, even $10, I could see myself recommending it as an ‘introduction to virtual reality’ type of experience,” wrote one reviewer.

The HTC Vive bundle only includes Job Simulator, as some players have mentioned. But for those who buy the game separately, the cost is often negative.

Job Simulator On Steam

“Job Simulator’s goal has always been to share the joy of VR with as many people as we could convince to get their hands (both gloved and gloveless) on it,” Owlchemy wrote Labs at the new cheaper price.

The price drop is now in effect. Those who paid $39.99 can request a refund and then repurchase the full game at its current price, the developer explained.

At Owlchemy Labs, we believe that hands-on VR is the most important element of a compelling experience. Autonomous VR hardware with full tracking is integral to making these experiences more accessible, so we’re excited to announce that Job Simulator is now available as a launch title on Oculus Quest.
