What we’re making We make a wonderful Moroccan lentil soup filled with chopped vegetables, starchy potatoes, two types of lentils and all the spices.

Slow Cooker Moroccan Chickpea Stew

The Moroccan spices we use are hot, spicy and very tasty. Turmeric, ginger, cumin, cinnamon, and smoked paprika make this soup even more comforting! It’s freezer-friendly, convenient for meal prep, and made in just one pot.

Lentils are one of my favorite ingredients to add to soups. First, they are high in protein. In fact, lentils contain more protein than most other beans. Pulses are also high in fiber, so they feel full.

And finally, lentils cook quickly and have a nice texture. They usually take about 40 minutes (maximum) to cook and give the soup a slightly meaty texture. It is perfect for those who eat meat at home.

Now let’s talk about the soup, how to make it. I’m sure you already know how to make soup, but I’ll share my personal favorite soup recipes in three parts. You can also use these three methods to make this Moroccan Dal Soup.

Moroccan Red Lentil Soup

Soups are a great meal prep option. This recipe serves 6 people, so I make it on Sunday, serve it for dinner (with a small side salad), and have leftovers for lunch that week!

If you make a meal with this recipe, I recommend storing it separately with all the toppings. As it heats up, the coconut curd melts into the soup and is delicious!

When choosing a container, make sure you use glass so you can heat without worrying about plastic!

Store in the refrigerator for 4-5 days, then reheat or freeze if desired.

The best way to freeze soup is to store it in the size you plan to eat it. If you want to serve two people, freeze two servings. Just a lunch? Just freeze one. That way, you’ll only unzip what you need.

And finally, before we dive into this amazing soup, let’s talk about the toppings! Toppings are a must for me and I love to enjoy them. It’s colorful, it’s spicy, it’s always cool.

And that’s a lot! You are now ready to enjoy Moroccan lentil soup. Can’t wait to hear what you think ❤️

My absolute favorite pot for making soup! I have had this exact dutch oven for years and it looks and feels almost new. We recommend 7 1/4 quarts to serve a large crowd!

I really want more crockpot recipes you have to make it and post it. There are crock pot meals. So much fun… It takes very little effort to throw everything into the crock pot. It’s great to have everything ready for dinner, especially if you know it’s going to be simmering.

Beef & Lentil Soup

However, coming up with a pot cooking recipe is a bit difficult. I’m never confident that my cooking time will be right…like these lentils, for example. Will they be completely mellow in 6 hours? Is there any substance in vegetables that lasts that long?

More difficult and intimidating than traditional recipes. However, the sense of satisfaction when things go right is unparalleled! Like this soup… this soup is definitely one of my new favorite cooking recipes. It is very easy to assemble and the taste is out of this world. Between the citrus and Moroccan spices thrown in there, DAAANNNGG. very good Needless to say, it will be a TON. Not to mention super healthy. not to mention

This recipe required some research. Had to read a lot about Moroccan food and flavors. Actually it was really funny. Knowing that it is true to its authentic Moroccan flavor made the recipe even more fun to make and eat! One thing I wanted to include here but didn’t was the lemon pickle.

Have you heard of them? Before I discovered Moroccan cuisine I never had. You can make your own really easily. Quarter a lemon, add salt, fill a jar with lemon juice or water, and refrigerate for about a month. I would love to try making it and learn more about the taste of Moroccan cuisine. The taste seems solid, but there is no lemon taste.

Slow Cooker Taco Lentil Soup

For this soup, I had to settle for regular, unpreserved lemons. I love you, plain lemon! Keep cooking my food and water and clothes with your tangy goodness!

All these combinations give you billions of delicious flavors that will attack your tongue (in a good way 👍), mixed with warm spices (like cinnamon and ginger) and bold spices (like cumin and paprika). It is ready. It takes six hours for the lemons to infuse into the soup, not only the juice, but also the flavor of the zest.

Find out the gender of our baby! It was a very fun and interesting time. There aren’t many things in my life that I look forward to. My wedding day, Seth’s deployment home, and this doctor’s appointment were probably the most anticipated and exciting events of my life so far.

I’m not known for my patience…so waiting until week 20 was a struggle fest…but worth it!

Moroccan Red Lentil Soup (instant Pot And Slow Cooker)

Unfortunately, we are keeping it a secret from the general public until the end of March. Seth’s parents are planning a visit for the last weekend in March, so I would appreciate it if I could talk to them in person. So – they are waiting so I can’t make any announcements on Facebook, blogs, etc.

And I’m not going to go into too much detail about my plans in this post so as not to leave anything out for the family reading this. If I seem too vague…I’m trying to be too vague…😀.My blog friends, I apologize for keeping you in the dark for almost a month. Trust me, it’s challenging. I’m pretty much an open book here, so it would be hard not to share! But… in just a month it will become public knowledge 😉.

If you make this or any of my other recipes, be sure to post it on Instagram with the hashtag #!
